The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (Punjabi: ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ) (also called the parliament of the Sikhs) is an organization in India responsible for the upkeep of gurdwaras, Sikh places of worship in three states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. SGPC also administers Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. Gurdwaras in Delhi are the administered by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee. These committees comprise of officials elected in open conclaves held at Harmandir Sahib in which all Sikhs may participate.
The SGPC is governed by a chairman, a treasurer and a general secretary. The SGPC manages the security, financial, facility maintenance and religious aspects of Gurdwaras as well as keeping archeologically rare and sacred artifacts, including weapons, clothes, books and writings of the Sikh Gurus. SGPC also sponsors and manages various educational institutions, hospitals and charity organizations.
committees are established for the welfare of the people they represent, but now all is changing
having only control on the treasure is the only motive.
but now a days politics is played on this committee .committee persons are also little worried
about their work.
what sgpc should focus on,but they have failed to.
Education:if Sikhs are not educated ,they wont understand Sikhism ,they have only few school,i have never heard about,
Addiction: One that worry me a lot, they have not yet decided to fight a war against the substances
getting people addicted, how would raj karega khalsa shabad achieved .
Propoganda: Total failure in propagation of Sikhism,
So many people may agree with me ,peoples are fighting sgpc elections for getting political images
whats the use of a organization that cannot hold the people of their belief, we need to spread sikh doctrine.
Guru Nanak taught the principle of One god only."There is but One God, His name is Truth, He is the Creator, He fears none, He is without hate, He never dies, He is beyond the cycle of births and death, He is self illuminated, He is realized by the kindness of the True Guru. He was True in the beginning, He was True when the ages commenced and has ever been True, He is also True now." (Japji)
